On 8 December 2009, the Norwegian Police Security Service (PST) has, with the assistance of Oslo Police District, apprehended two persons on suspicion of violating of the Norwegian Weapons Act.
This information emerged in the course of an investigation conducted by the PST.
On the basis of information from previous criminal cases and the specific security situation prevailing in Oslo this week, PST considered it right to apprehend the two persons at this point in time. Until further notice, the two persons charged will be held in police custody. Furthermore, PST does not know of any concrete threats made against the Nobel Peace Prize Award and related events.
At the present moment, PST will not comment any further on this matter.
